By expanding their product range and elimination of non-payers Matica MB overcome the crisis and rose revenue by 47 percent
""In the sale of fasteners we compete with the diversity of offered products: non-standard item can be obtained very quickly, because we have good logistical connections throughout the world, ""says Matthew Burger, director of Matica MB.
Matica MB is selling fasteners (screws, nuts, mounting screws ...) for the metal, electrical, automotive and computer hardware industry. For all the tools for fasteners the company also provide service, which helps customers to improve solutions for fixing and fastening procedure. The main customers are manufacturing companies, which typically use standardized material and need it as quickly as possible. For quality products they also provide certificates that customers need for foreign buyers.
They do business in Croatia and Bosnia
Matica MB is doing business outside Slovenia - In Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina -, which represent seven percent of company revenue. This year they will try to find customers on fairs over Croatia. Material is supplied from Slovenia and all over Europe (England, Germany, Switzerland), but also imported products from Taiwan and China.
Last year 47-percent revenue growth
In year 2011, the company had revenues of EUR 810 thousand, which is 47 percent more than the year before. They employed two new co-workers, so now the company employed five people, this year are planning for two to three new jobs. Expect to increase sales by 40 percent compared to last year, including increasing the share of foreign sales.

In the begining of crises company extended (mogoče expanded) their product range: they started to sell all fasteners products, so their customers could get everything for fastening in one place. They stopped doing business with non-payers, they are getting information on paying abilities of other parties from prudential houses. With these measures, the company did not felt the crisis. Director Matthew Burger entrepreneurs in times of crisis, advises: ""Think less about crisis and don't postpone thing. Do everything today and don't postpone thing to tomorrow, make it well and with a sense of the client.«
